Artist Statement:

Like everybody I was struck by the death of

this young iranian girl, NEDA AGHA

SOLTAN killed during the student

insurrection in Teheran in 2009.

I choose the green because is the symbol of

the student insurrection of  Iran’s GREEN

WAVE , protesting against election result

in Iran.  Black is the color of death and also

the color of the traditional Islamic dress

"the chador".

What was your starting point or your

inspiration for doing this project?

The news that we receive every day from

newspaper and internet are an interesting

change to speak about the woman

condition in the world

Do you have a personal (or other)

connection to the exhibition’s theme?

No

What were the main reasons for choosing

the materials, shapes or technique in your

work?

I used the fabric that I prefer like cotton that

is a ordinary fabric, the embroidery because

is a typical woman work

What kind of feeling you wish the viewers

will get from your work?

I dedicate my work to Neda, because “she is

not with us” and through internet she

become a symbol of the

“Green wave”

If you could give your Jewelry to an

important figure in the Middle East who

will he/she be? and why?

I will choose the Queen “Rania” of  Jordan

because she is the symbol of the future in

Middle East, She believe in culture and in

the new generations.
