Artist Statement:
This brooch is a part of my final project in
Bezalel, I studied the surrounding I grew up
in and tried to express the combination of
pastorally, nature and the war elements.
I took the basalt stone which is the local
stone used by human beings throw history
of the area for building houses and tools
and in the Israeli history is used as a cover
for bomb shelter's, for the early Israeli artist
to use as symbol of belonging to the
homeland and i melted it. Trying to bring it
back to it's source. Giving it the shape of the
ventilation opening in a bomb shelter As i
grow up in a kibbutz working the land was
a part of the morals i absorbed, the
belonging to a land to a view has become a
part of my personalty. So what grow out of a
land that has tries and flowers but also
shelters and bunkers come out of it?
